Mwadzura wins Zim Afristeel Blitz chess tournament

Roy Mwadzura won the tournament and walked away with $20 he finished with 7.5 points. He lost to Achford Matiringe and drew against Cyril Chigodo. Cyril Chigodo came second and won $15, he had 7 points, while there was a third-place tie Hamilton Madeya and Vitalis Mapuranga third-placed player won.

They shared the prizes for third and fourth position since they were tied and each one got $7.50.respectively. The best lady was WCM Kudzanai Charinda who walked away with $4.Mr R Moyo was the organiser of the blitz tournament while James Vhezha was the Arbiter for the tournament. The winner Roy Mwadzura was very grateful to the Sponsors for standing with chess in these trying times.

He also thanked all the chess players who took part and the level of chess competition which they exihibited for him to be the winner. He highlited that it was not a walk in the park. He also promised to work hard to defend his title next month.

The sponsors were represented by Dr SizaMasuku who promised to host future monthly events with improved prizes and encouraged members to participate in Zim Afristeel online chess tournaments in which Cyril Chigodo is enjoying a new lease of lief in these onile tournaments as he leads the pack of other chess players. Online chess players will enjoy these tournaments proving a point that they are the ones causing a lot of stir in these online tournies and to show that they are not robots.
